For those who prefer to travel independently, Cauterets is easily accessible by road. Contact the A64 (Tarbes Ouest/Tournay exits), continue towards Lourdes then Argelès-Gazost, You will then take the RD920 (route de Cauterets) for the final ascent. This well-maintained road offers superb views over the valley. We encourage car-pooling to reduce your carbon footprint.

Between 1 November and 31 March, the Montagne law requires snow tyres or chains/socks in the vehicle. Access via high-altitude passes may be closed in winter: prefer the route via Lourdes → Argelès-Gazost → Cauterets.
Outdoor car parks in the village and multi-storey car parks depending on the sector, chargeable during the high season and free in summer. Free inter-neighbourhood shuttles for easy access (Village ↔ télécabine ↔ Pont d'Espagne depending on the season).
