When should you visit Mijoux?
- Winter : December to late March/early April, depending on snow conditions. The combination of altitude and artificial snow on certain runs ensures good skiability in the heart of the area when conditions are favourable. Varied slopes at Mijoux - La Faucille, beginners' sectors, occasional night skiing depending on the calendar and access to the vast Nordic ski area of La Vattay - Valserine (around 140 km of cross-country runs). Skiing, snowshoeing, tobogganing, Nordic activities and cosy après-ski: Mijoux embodies the charm of the snow-covered Haut-Jura, between fir trees and ridges.
- Summer : From June to September, it's all about hiking, mountain biking, looking out over the crests of the Jura (Col de la Faucille, Crêt de la Neige, Reculet...), high altitude pastures and the villages of the Haut-Jura. The resort retains its peaceful mountain atmosphere, with nature activities (adventure park, summer tobogganing or equivalent depending on the season, paragliding) and plenty of summer entertainment in the valley and neighbouring villages.
How do I get to Mijoux?
Before reaching the station, plan your journey: the route is accessible all year round, but snow tyres or channels are strongly recommended during the winter period (and may be mandatory in the event of a snowfall, in accordance with local regulations).
Getting to the resort by car
For those who prefer to travel independently, Mijoux - Monts Jura is easily accessible by road.
From Geneva or the Lake Geneva region, join Gex then follow the D1005 and D936 towards the Col de la Faucille and Mijoux.
From Lyon or the south, access is via the A42/A40 to the Valserine valley (Bellegarde-sur-Valserine / Valserhône), then via the Jura roads to Mijoux. The roads offer superb panoramic views of the valleys and peaks of the Jura. Car pooling is highly recommended to reduce your carbon footprint.
GPS point (winter) :
In winter, find out about traffic conditions on the Jura passes (Col de la Faucille, access from the Valserine valley, etc.) and use the main routes through the valleys when the weather is bad. Remember to check your compulsory equipment (winter tyres / chains) before setting off.
Outdoor car parks near the Mijoux - La Faucille snow front and car parks near the village's accommodation, generally free or low-cost. Shuttle buses or local links (depending on the season) provide easy access to the slopes and the Col de la Faucille.

Even though Mijoux does not have a station directly on site, the train remains a practical solution to access the station.
Major TGV/TER station with links to Lyon, Paris and Geneva. From Bellegarde, drive up to Mijoux by hire car, taxi/VTC or regional bus (depending on season and timetable).
International station with links to many French and European cities. The journey then continues by car, taxi, VTC or bus to Gex and Mijoux.
