Before reaching the resort, plan your route: the road is accessible all year round, but there are some winter tyres or channels are strongly recommended during the winter period (and may be compulsory in the event of a snowstorm, depending on local regulations).

From Besançon, Take the N57 to Pontarlier, then follow signs for Métabief / Jougne.
From Dijon / Paris, Take the A36 and then the N57 towards Pontarlier, before climbing up to Métabief.

The roads offer beautiful panoramic views of the Haut-Doubs plateaux and the Jura peaks. Visit carpooling is highly recommended to reduce your carbon footprint.

In winter, find out about traffic conditions on mountain roads (Mont d'Or, Jougne, etc.) and use the main routes by Pontarlier when the weather is tricky. Remember to check the compulsory equipment (winter tyres / chains) before setting off.
Outdoor car parks at the foot of the Métabief ski area (snow front) and car parks in the vicinity of accommodation and the village, generally free or moderately priced. Local shuttles or organised links (depending on the season) provide easy access to the snow front from some accommodation.
Pontarlier ~20 min - Besançon ~1 h 15 - Lausanne ~1 h-1 h 15 - Geneva ~1 h 45-2 h - Dijon ~2 h 30 (depending on traffic, weather and road conditions).
Charging stations are available at Pontarlier, These are located in several communes in the Haut-Doubs and sometimes in the resort or near accommodation (private car parks, hotels, residences). Payment is generally by credit card or dedicated application, via QR code on site. Check with your accommodation provider or the Tourist Office to find the most convenient terminal.
Even though Métabief does not have a station directly on site, the train remains a practical solution to access the station.
Station TGV / TER the most convenient, with easy access to all major routes Paris-Frasne-Lausanne. From Frasne, the ascent to Métabief can be made by regional bus, shuttle, taxi, VTC or hire car (≈30-40 min).
Another major TER station, with links to Besançon and the main lines. The journey then continues by road to Métabief (bus, taxi, VTC, car hire).
From the train stations, you enter Métabief via regional buses, seasonal shuttles, taxis/VTC or car hire, depending on your needs and time of arrival.
